[Pkg-pulseaudio-devel] Bug#489469: pulseaudio: Says realtime not permitted even though I am in pulse-rt

I'm in pulse-rt group, but pulseaudio will not run at all.  None of
the management applications (paman, padevchooser, pavucontrol) would
start either.  No selinux configured.

$ pulseaudio -v
I: main.c: We're in the group 'pulse-rt', allowing real-time and high-priority scheduling.
W: core-util.c: setpriority(): Permission denied
