I had the problem, too.
After a downgrade to pulseaudio 0.9.10-3 form stable, everything sounded
as normal again.

Bug 521675 ( http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=521675 )
says "starting the pulse server as root seems to solve the issue.".
I didn't tested it myself yet.
