Subject: `invoke-rc.d pulseaudio stop` not working
Package: pulseaudio
Version: 0.9.15-4.1
Severity: normal
*** Please type your report below this line ***
Dear Pulseaudio hackers,
$ grep PULSEAUDIO_SYSTEM_START /etc/default/pulseaudio
PULSEAUDIO_SYSTEM_START=0
$ sudo invoke-rc.d pulseaudio stop
Stopping PulseAudio DaemonNo process in pidfile `/var/run/pulse/pid' found running; none killed.
... pulseaudio is not running.
$ sudo invoke-rc.d pulseaudio start
$ sudo invoke-rc.d pulseaudio status
pulseaudio is running.
$ sudo invoke-rc.d pulseaudio stop
Stopping PulseAudio DaemonNo process in pidfile `/var/run/pulse/pid' found running; none killed.
... pulseaudio is not running.
$ ps aux | grep -i pulseaudio
foo 4006 1.3 0.1 161228 4584 ? Ssl 13:40 0:10 /usr/bin/pulseaudio --start --log-target=syslog
timidity 4100 0.0 0.0 17812 2260 ? S< 11:02 0:00 /usr/bin/pulseaudio --start --log-target=syslog
Should I be able to stop the process if `status` tells me it is running.
`status` was implemented by Peter Eisentraut in 0,9.15-3, #527333 [1].
Thanks,
Paul
