The version I have now is 2.0, which I think is what I was starting to
use back in July when I encountered this problem.
This is what I *had* in /etc/asound.conf, before I removed that file to
make pulseaudio work:
servo:~ 0$ cat /etc/asound.conf.bak
pcm.pulse { type pulse }
ctl.pulse { type pulse }
pcm.!default { type pulse }
ctl.!default { type pulse }
servo:~ 0$
