Package: pulseaudio-equalizer
Version: 11.1-4
Severity: normal
I wanted to install pulseaudio-equalizer but bailed out when I saw this:
# aptitude install pulseaudio-equalizer
The following NEW packages will be installed:
libqt4-designer{a} libqt4-help{a} libqt4-scripttools{a} libqt4-test{a}
libqtassistantclient4{a} pulseaudio-equalizer python-qt4{a} python-qt4-dbus{a}
Afaik the plan is to remove qt4 from the archives before the Buster
release, so that means that this program/module should be upgraded to
Qt5.
That's also the reason I choose severity normal instead of wishlist.
(It would also be great if the depends is more restrictive as I see no
reason to install qt(4) designer/help/test packages while only runtime things
should be needed)
Luckily I found a commit on the GitHub mirror of the PulseAudio repo:
https://github.com/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/commit/480e0e74f43565d7ece72141666961ae8cc2ed75
titled: qpaeq: port to PyQt5
Added debian-qt-kde at lists.debian.org as they track/manage the removal of
qt4 and it looks like this one was missed.
Cheers,
Diederik
