Bug#907745: pulseaudio: PulseAudio fails to switch to any profile other than Analog Stereo with Sound Blaster Z

Package: pulseaudio
Version: 12.0-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
I recently upgraded to the new Linux kernel 4.18, since it now has
support for
the Sound Blaster Z audio cards. The issue I'm seeing is that anytime I
try to
switch to a profile different than Analog Stereo Output, PulseAudio stops
outputting any sound. I've tried running PulseAudio from a terminal with
verbosity, and whenever I try to change profiles in the volume control
application, I get several 'I: [pulseaudio] (alsa-lib)pcm_hw.c:
SNDRV_PCM_IOCTL_PREPARE failed (-22)' outputs. These errors do not
happen with
the internal sound card or any other device, just Sound Blaster Z. But I
know
the card is capable of outputting 5.1 surround, as I'm able to directly use
alsa's output in VLC and other applications.
I've attached some output of PulseAudio logging:
