I get

  puppetd[3643]: Other end went away; restarting connection and
  retrying

from one of my hosts (running 0.24.5-2) on every puppetd run, while
31 other hosts (running 0.24.4-8) synchronise with the same
(mongrel, etch) server just fine.

There are no issues with network connectivity between the two hosts,
whatsoever.
