I am making progress with the ruby package and whilst doing so have
learned that I can login to alioth using ssh. So I guess I might be able
to create the repo for the puppet module (and another for
datacentered-ldap, ITP #778536) myself.

Is that acceptable and how badly can I screw up?

I remember that meta.git needs to be updated to reference the new repos.
