I confirm that it FTBFS in buster and builds ok in sid.

Most probably, there is a buggy build-dependency somewhere, but I
don't know which one it is (I would prefer to reassign the bug).

I usually try to avoid buster-only bugs, but once they are reported,
I'm not very happy with them being closed without a minimum of
investigation on the side of package maintainers.

But if you think this can/should be closed, please go ahead and close it.
