Thanks for the patch, I've applied it in the git version of
python-debian. It would be nice if you can try out the current HEAD to
check whether it fits your needs.

Oh come on, can't you just drop this? :-) Everybody makes mistakes and
that mistake provided you with a (not so) good experience you'll
remember forever *g*.

Unfortunately, it is for historical reason; personally, I've never
really liked the "debian_bundle" and I'm in favor of migrating to
"debian". That would require a (temporary) patch with a backward
compatibility module that warns users of the old module. ... care to
send a bug report with patch? :-)
