That's awesome! I'd be thinking about something like this since quite a
while.

I haven't tried it yet, but I have been tracking the amount of DEP5
files in the Debian archive since quite a while, using the
sources.debian.net corpus.  This means that I've a potentially pretty
interesting test suite for you.

If you like the idea, how about preparing an executable script that
stress test the parser, and then I run it on all the DEP5 files in the
archive?

(of course, we can talk about this F2F at DebConf if you're still
around, I'm currently sitting in hacklab 3rd floor)
