Sorry  not recession. Idk if  rescission is the correct term but  it refers  to the practice  insurance  companies had of retroactively canceling coverage. They always said it  was because  of  fraud  or because  you lied  on a form, but  you don't  have to dig very far to find  lots  of  cases where the evidence was pretty flimsy. Add in  the fact that many of  those departments received commission for the  number of plans they repealed and  you  get a  pretty shady and shitty  business  practice.
