 I downloaded the sid-version of raspi3-firmware (from today) and
installed it manually via dpkg -i.
Now it works again, thanks a lot for the info (and your work).
Additionaly, with the new version i now get the startup-messages instead
of the black screen before the login prompt, very nice.

Just one minor quirk:
dpkg -i raspi3-firmware... -> didn't work
dpkg-reconfigure raspi3-firmware... -> didn't work
apt purge raspi3-firmware and then dpkg -i raspi3-firmware... -> worked

(/boot/firmware/cmdline.txt and /boot/firmware/config.txt didn't get
overwritten in the first two tries..)
