Is a consistent newbie recommendation possible here?


Problem Statement (my understanding):
- Raspian follows Official Debian releases, meaning
Kernel 4.9 until next year sometime.

- Mozilla Firefox (since 52?) and friends need
Kernel 4.14 for Sound to work.

- Therefore, some (vast hordes of) Raspian refugees
can be expected here in the forseeable future.
