I have now found out that the Pi 4 Model B uses a VC5 video chipset,
which is supported by the vc4 module in mainline Linux as of 5.10. I
thus ocmpiled the 5.10-rc2 kernel, and voila, I got the /dev/dri/card0
device. However, I still only the the llvmpipe software
renderer. Looking at the build options used in Mesa on arm64, I
conclude that it has the v3d Gallium driver enabled, which supports
VC5 in theory.

Any hints on where to continue from here are very welcome.
