Package: raspi-firmware
Version: 1.20220830+ds-1
Severity: normal
Tags: bookworm

Dear Maintainers,

On a clean installation of Debian 12.6 (Bookworm) XFCE amd64 from the official ISO
(debian-12.6.0-amd64-xfce.iso), the package ‘raspi-firmware’ was installed by
default.

During kernel update or initramfs rebuild, the following error occurs:

raspi-firmware: missing /boot/firmware, did you forget to mount it?
run-parts: /etc/initramfs/post-update.d/z50-raspi-firmware exited with return code 1

This package is intended for Raspberry Pi (ARM) systems and should not be
present or triggered on x86_64 installations.

**Expected result:**
The raspi-firmware package should not be installed or run on non-ARM architectures.

**Actual result:**
Post-install scripts fail during kernel configuration, blocking initramfs updates.

System details:
Architecture: x86_64 (HP EliteBook 2570p)
Kernel: 6.1.0-40-amd64
Install method: Official Debian 12.6 XFCE amd64 ISO (Legacy BIOS mode)

Best regards, Vesa Konola
