Dear Dominic,

both reviewers of my translation and i agree that splitting the second
sentence
would improve the readability.

#. Type: string
#. Description
#: ../templates:3001
msgid ""
"It should be a persistent DNS domain relating to your installation, for "
"example example.org, or perhaps rt.example.org. It should not be changed "
"during the lifetime of the RT database, so it recommended not to use the "
"default value of the system hostname, and therefore if you plan to
restore "
"an existing database to this installation you should use the same value
as "
"previously."

I suggest to replace the last four lines with

"during the lifetime of the RT database, so it is recommended not to use
the "
"default value of the system hostname. Therefore you should use the same "
"value as previously if you plan to restore an existing database to this "
"installation."

Kind regards
       Martin
