Changing Maintainer/Uploaders, yes, and having the package source in
git on alioth. If you send me your alioth username I can add you to that.

It's not exactly a large team with established practices, but I at
least am a big fan of git dpm for patch management, but we can probably
work with other preferences too ;)

Not sure I follow your comment about github? Better to have the primary
packaging repositories in one place on Debian infrastructure, I think?
