Hi Andrew and Dominic,
thank you both for looking into this :) .

Hmm, I'm talking about the install section of the README where it says:
[...]
Install Patches
This is to enable searches for users with a password set.
For RT 5 prior to 5.0.2, apply this:
patch -p1 -d /opt/rt5 < patches/user-admin-callbacks.patch
[patch files for other versions]
[...]

Uuh, cool. I was looking at what changes have been made and so far could
not find anything related to these patches. Are these still necessary?
If so, I think the changes in the patch files are something that might
be possible to integrate in the core rt4/5 packages as they add pretty
generic callbacks.
If you would be fine with that, I'd be happy if you could give me the
opportunity try to implement a fix by myself when it is clearer what
would need to be done. I was hoping to make a small PR to practice :) .
So far I've only tried maintaining some packages left behind by a DD in
a private repo after they moved somewhere else and would like to take
small steps towards the Debian project community.
Best
Tobias
