Hi Tim!

Database is handled by dbconfig-common. I am reassigning your bug report
to this package. This also could be a feature for mysql-server too.

My personal opinion  is that there is no way to  backup the database for
you. There are too many things to  handle (how often, how much) to do it
effeciently for most people.

Moreover, except for very essential files (like the ones that are backed
up in /var/backups),  no Debian package is handling  regular backups for
the  administrator. I  think that  this is  not in  the scope  of Debian
packaging.
