Forgot to say that the 1.4~rc1+dfsg.2-1 I uploaded there last summer is
currently broken (and superseded), which is another reason to upload

I guess you meant *shouldn't* here, in which case I agree with the
premise but not with the implication, I don't see why `apt install
roundcube` should automatically yield an deployment that scales well in
production.  Just to name two, matrix-synapse and postfix also come out
of the box with configurations that are arguably not tuned for
production.  I don't see anything wrong with that.  Anyway it's moot, if
roundcube was new in Debian I'd argue to use -sqlite3 as first
alternative, but I'm not in favor of changing it now.
