And that broke Roundcube?  I'm confused between the title of this bug
and your earlier “What was the outcome of this action?  roundcube now
works.”

Anyway should that bug be merged with #891880 (roundcubemail: no option
in dbconfig for a remote mysql database setup)?

As the comment reads

If it detects changes in that file ucf(1) should present you with a diff
and ask you if you want to preserve or override it.  But the better
place is to edit the metadata in debconf and/or /etc/dbconfig-common/roundcube.conf,
using roundcube/remote/host and roundcube/remote/port as I wrote in
#891880.  That way the changes should stick and propagate through
dbconfig files.
