Good, I was hoping to do it in that order also.

An early version (0.55 or so) of complearn was in Ruby+C mixed badly,
but the current version is written in pure C. The Ruby binding is
meant to be seperate. The main lib is supposed to not depend on Ruby
for maximum acceptance into the scientific community. I would say
the main thing is libcomplearn right now, but eventually I expect the
Ruby binding to grow as the interface gets evolved and hopefully it
will be more popular. I think the situation is substantially similar
in libgsl and indeed I already have some compatibility features and
strong dependency with this library; notably the C and Ruby gsl_matrix
types.

In terms of package dependencies, the first ones for me must be
libcsoap and libsvm. Then the next stage libcomplearn. Then
libsvm-ruby, complearn-gui, complearn-mpi, and libcomplearn-ruby.

I'll need some direction on how to get the packages sponsored; I guess
this will depend on how the packages 'check out' later this weekend.
I look forward to comments from all.

Cheers,

Rudi
