[Pkg-ruby-extras-maintainers] including rubygems in ubuntu and debian

Debian don't want to use gems for their own packages that's perfectly fine.

Debian bundle tools to deal with cpan perl packages, rpms, tar.gz archives,
python easy_install eggs. I think it should also be easy for Debian users to
use ruby gems.

Most of ruby gems won't ever be packaged as deb, many are crappy but useful
anyway. And if we want Debian to a credible platform for rails developpement
rubygems should be bundled.

The experimental rubygems package is totally optional and has no reverse
depends at all.

The question is: Is there a valid reason for not including it in main ?

All of this apply also to ubuntu, i got positive feedback on the #ubuntu-devel
channel. "I suggest you talk to lucas and find out whether he thinks we can
sync rubygems from Debian experimental"
