[DRE-maint] Bug#544146: /usr/bin/gem:14: undefined method `ruby_version' for Gem:Module (NoMethodError)

# gem install anything
/usr/bin/gem:14: undefined method `ruby_version' for Gem:Module (NoMethodError)


I tried to follow the instructions here (editing /usr/bin/gem):

but i got this error:

/usr/local/lib/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/gem_runner.rb:18:in `initialize': uninitialized constant Gem::CommandManager (NameError)

	from /usr/bin/gem:21
