If you're eager to test some package, just use [0]
However, i did not upload it to [1] for these reasons :
- i changed the version to 0.9.0-1, instead of e.g.
0.9.0+svn20090604.2778, which is wrong since 0.9.0 is not
released upstream, see [2]
- i played with debconf (i'm a beginner maintainer)
so that some automatic web server configuration was proposed
at package configuration time. I realise now that this
config should not be handled by that redmine package, but should
instead be handled by a more general wwwconfig-common package.
See [2] and [3] for a better explanation.
- redmine depends on some rails plugins, but upstreams changed
them to a point where it doesn't seem possible to package the
upstream versions of those plugins and use them in redmine.
The obvious solution is to forget this idea and just consider
those plugins to be integral part of redmine (i mean drop the
idea of package dependency, not the copyrights mentions !)
To conclude, there is not much work left, since i just need to
go back to previous version number that was initially set by
Richard Hurt, and for the second point i just need to put the
web config templates to the /usr/share/doc/redmine/examples/
directory instead of trying some half-cooked stuff with debconf.
I'm willing to fix that soon (id est tonight !) and upload it asap
to [0].
Regards,
Jérémy Lal.
