FWIW, I agree we should move Gems to /usr/local - It is the place
meant for local-administrator-installed software, and Gems are clearly
not provided by Debian.

I'll just join Lucas and ask you not to get over-excited by this. We
are currently in a freeze period, so deep changes are discouraged -
yes, even if we are (subtly IMHO) breaking the FHS. And, in any case,
feel free to push your point, but first on the list, having a
reasonable discussion period.

I would rather see Squeeze ship with Rubygems as they are now. Doing
this change will involve changing Ruby's load path, and that is not
precisely what I'd call a minor change.
