[DRE-maint] Trying to get webistrano to run proper

I hope to be not completely wrong in this list. I use to use debian
(ubuntu at work) and want to use webistrano on the systems. Webistrano
is somewhat dead but my company depends on it. So I tried to get it to
work. Unfortunately webistrano is using bundler to force pretty old
software libraries that are available via dpkg. (Some of the
dependencies I did package myself, but at the moment I am not sure if
they are correct. (Using gem2deb))

But Webistrano refuses to run. I did fix some stuff still but now I get
the idiotic error message "Object is not missing constant Webistrano!".
It seems something to do with the load path. But I am a bit off.

Also unfortunately webistrano is a web application running under
passenger. That makes the stuff even worse to debug.

I heard from Axel Beckert that the ruby team has some knowledge about
such "great" software in ruby. So thats the reason I am here now. Maybe
you had have similar problems with other ruby tools before? If so or if
you have an idea how to solve it, I would very like it to hear it. :-)

I bury the idea of creating a debian package of webistrano but I want to
use at least a proper way to install the dependencies and not this
bundler stuff or gem. (Both do not play well with a distribution way of
managing packages.)
