Public bug reported:

Hi,

the 12.04's version of libapache2-mod-passenger seems to be unable to work with ruby 1.9.x and to require ruby 1.8.
Almost all newer rails software, on the other hand, requires at least ruby 1.9.x., and thus won't run with this passenger version. I currently don't see any chance to get this running with pure ubuntu and without manual modifications (e.g. installing passenger through gem and self-compiling modules).

Would be nice to get the backport from newer ubuntu releases.

regards
