Package: ruby-rchardet
Version: 1.3-3
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
Here is what I did:
sudo apt-get install ruby-rchardet
$ irb
irb(main):001:0> require 'rchardet'
SyntaxError: /usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/rchardet/universaldetector.rb:39: invalid multibyte escape: /[\x80-\xFF]/

irb(main):002:0>
$ irb1.9
irb(main):001:0> require 'rchardet'
=> true
The Ruby 1.9 behavior is what I expected in Ruby 2.1.1.
