[DRE-maint] Bug#688851: sup-mail: crashes on startup

Tested using sup-mail 0.19.0 on a freshly installed jessie system.
1. Ran sup-config
- at end, when prompted to run sup-sync, chose NO
2. Ran sup-mail
Result: empty inbox, but no error.
