you will notice that this package is _small_. But we need it for some
reasons:

- launchy is a Ruby library that provides a cross-platform interface for
  "Opening a given URL in a web browser".

- it contains a lot of code for doing that in the right way in several
  platforms, so other upstreams depend on it.

- the original launchy library is a little messy, and basically
  unmaintainable in Debian due to several reasons.

- we already have 3-4 packages that should depend on launchy, but we
  ended up patching them to remove the dependency. These patches are
  starting to become a maintainability issue.

- in pratice, the code path that will run on Debian systems is
  equivalent to the code in this package, i.e. "just call xdg-open".
  This package provides the same API as the original package, and is
  very easy for us to maintain.
