I think the origin of this bug report can be traced back to
https://ci.debian.net/packages/r/rexical/unstable/amd64/

BTW the package should have a gemfile since the upstream installation
instructions are `gem install rexical`. What happens is that we are
probably pulling directly from the github repository, which does not
have a source gemspec (from what I understand it generates one at
release time with code in the Rakefile).
