[DRE-maint] Bug#839702: gitlab: logrotate not working?

Ever since I've installed GitLab "/var/log/gitlab/production.log" keep 
growing (it is already over 700 MiB) despite the following in the
"/etc/gitlab/gitlab.rb":

logging['logrotate_frequency'] = "daily"
logging['logrotate_size'] = 200 * 1024 * 1024
logging['logrotate_rotate'] = 30
logging['logrotate_compress'] = "compress"
logging['logrotate_method'] = "copytruncate"
logging['logrotate_postrotate'] = nil
logging['logrotate_dateformat'] = nil
~~~~

Package "logrotate" is installed...
