So would just naming the link Lato-RegularItalic.ttf as in (untested)

| ln -s /usr/share/fonts/truetype/lato/Lato-Italic.ttf debian/camping/usr/share/doc/camping/rdoc/fonts/Lato-RegularItalic.ttf

fix the issue?
