[DRE-maint] Asciidoctor: I'd like to help

I'm the current maintainer of asciidoc in Debian and I'd like to help

I don't think so.
As far as I remember we had to add a few patches otherwise the tests were
not running.

Yes.
Also if you want to test the package build you can use
https://wiki.debian.org/sbuild
(but you probably already know that)
