Fair enough.  The first two errors would indeed occur with any package
that has no dependencies (and thus no /usr/share/cargo/registry), though
in this case the crate has dependencies and needs them packaged and
installed. The latter error indicates that the source package doesn't
contain debian/cargo-checksum.json , which suggests that you didn't
package using debcargo.
