Yes, that is the drawback of voluntary work. I could check licenses all 
day, but others want me to do different things as well.

For the kernel upstream already makes some kind of license check. So there 
is no need to check again and given the size, such check would last rather 
long.
rust packages are small and sometimes a mix of different licenses ...
