>From what I have seen, shortwave uses meson and wraps the rust build inside
it. It seems this pattern has been embraced by a few gtk-based Rust packages,
such as Fractal, Shortwave and Podcasts.
It seems as if the meson build does more than just wrapping the rust build, so
I assume it might be better to find a way to keep it like that, and modify the
cargo/rustc calls so they use packages from the debcargo-conf repo.
I'm also not a totally sure that the rust team is the best fit for providing a
home to these projects, maybe the gnome team is a better place, they already
maintain projects in other languages than C, such as Vala or Python. If you
think the rust team is better suited, you're of course welcome.
