[Pkg-rust-maintainers] librust-libz-sys+zlib-ng-dev, extracting zlib-ng

hello there, rust maintainers!

i'm interested in using zlib-ng from some C code in debian. it's
not packaged, but i notice that librust-libz-sys+zlib-ng-dev
*is* present. is this wrapping the zlib-ng c library? it seems
like it is, looking at [0]. assuming this to be correct, would
there be interest in unvendoring it from the rust team? how
ought we proceed? thanks!
