The release of Rust crate ring currently in Debian is v0.16.9 which
was released upstream 2.5 years ago.  Upstream has since issued 11
releases with same minor version, where the newest - v0.16.20 - was
released about a year ago so seemingly relatively stable.

Several applications I am working on packaging require newer release of
ring, which is unsurprising given that upstream explicitly state the
following:

> Users of ring should always use the latest released version, and users
> should upgrade to the latest released version as soon as it is
> released.


Please upgrade to newest upstream release.
