shouldn't be a problem, we can do that for 1.61 or 1.62. have been 
running 1.60-1.62 with a backported LLVM 14 downstream (bullseye 
base[0]) for a while now without any issues (amd64 only though - the 
devil is always in the detai^Wother architectures ;)).

at least one crate (sequoia-openpgp) saw massive build time 
improvements (3-4x speedup) just by switching LLVM version, which made 
us pull the trigger. upstream/rustup rustc has switched a while ago 
already (which made us investigate the build time difference ;)), and 
IIRC the default is 14 for >= 1.62 as well in git.
