As a rule of thumb: we must not be better than upstream.
Normaly upstream knows best who holds copyright in the software. In this 
case I would be fine with Leo being the only copyright holder in your 
debian/copyright.
Of course if there are obvious errors in upstreams copyright statements, 
we should tell him by filing a bug or sending emails.
