Not yet.

Cython >= 0.16 has still not entered testing. I gather it is close and
the maintainers seem to be reasonably actively trying to resolve the
blocking issues. The current release will be 10 days old tomorrow.

It would be (is) possible to backport python-zmq by using generating
the required files using a newer cython and adding them, but it is
much better if it actually builds properly from source.

I'll re-get in touch with the Cython maintainers after the 10 day
period has expired if it has not migrated to testing.

Once this has happened, I'll let the backports mailing list know of
the plan (and the relevant maintainers) and commence.

The packages required to be backported are:

cython > 0.16
libzmq3
python-zmq > 13

I expect to be able to do this to both stable and old stable, going
further back (lenny) runs into trouble with python versions.

Cheers,

Joe
