[Pkg-salt-team] 2014.1 backports?

Hi!

Before spending huge amounts of time in vain, I'd like to know whether
you'd reckon that it would be feasible to backport the current version
of Salt to Wheezy, and possibly Squeeze as well. A cursory glance
through the ./debian directory suggests that a number of features might
have to be disabled, but otoh, since upstream announced major changes
between 0.17 and 2014.1, I'd like to avoid having to re-do the
configuration sometime later, but start with 2014.1 right away.

What do you think?
