Yeah, it's deprecated. I just finished removing its last stanzas on my
own servers so we very certainly should *remove* that line from our
default smb.conf

Sounds the more neutral way to me. I definitely don't like this
DEBIAN_FANS thing. It's only use is, for me, to spot Debian users on
my company's network and call them to say "hi".
