Hello fellow samba Bugzilla administrators,
I hereby contact you in name of the samba package maintenance team for
the Debian project.
The team works on the "alioth" server of the Debian project and uses a
mailing list "pkg-samba-maint at lists.alioth.debian.org".
We often forward bug reports we receive in the Debian bug tracking
system to your own bug tracking system.
Up to now, all of us (myself, Peter Eisentraut, Steve Langasek, Eloy
Paris, Noel Köthe...) did so under our own accounts in
bugzilla.samba.org
However, this induces a dependency on us receiving the mails from
bugzilla and forward it to our mailing list.
So, I tried to establish another practice and have all team members
use a "pkg-samba-maint at lists.alioth.debian.org" account on your
bugzilla.
I created this account and was waiting for the activation token to
be sent to the mailing list (it would have been in the moderation
queue).
However, it seems that lists.alioth.debian.org is rejecting mails from
your server because (pasting an exchange with Alioth admins, buxy is
Raphaël Hertzog, weasel is Peter palfrader, bubulle is myself):
08:23 < bubulle> I can re-ask for the account password to be sent to the list, if someone can look at the logs at the same time
08:24 < weasel> how long ago did you request the token?
08:24 < buxy> bubulle: yeah I don't find anything in the logs
08:24 < bubulle> weasel: well, the initial request is "long ago" (3-4 months, maybe)
08:24 < buxy> bubulle: yeah please retry
08:24 < bubulle> I requested a new token to be sent yesterday
08:25 < bubulle> ok
08:25 < bubulle> just done
08:26 < buxy> 2006-03-29 06:25:39 H=dp.samba.org (lists.samba.org) [66.70.73.150]:36800 I=[192.25.206.28]:25
F=<wwwrun at jump.samba.org> temporarily rejected RCPT <pkg-samba-maint at lists.alioth.debian.org>: Could not complete
sender verify callout
08:26 < bubulle> The list is re-closed now so the mail should end up in the moderation queue
08:26 < buxy> (I watched the mail.log instead of exim4/mainlog)
08:26 < bubulle> ah
08:26 < buxy> bubulle: bad MAIL FROM in their bot ...
08:26 < weasel> jump.samba.org has no MX record
08:26 < weasel> weasel at galaxy:~$ telnet jump.samba.org 25
08:26 < weasel> Trying 69.30.210.66...
08:26 < weasel> telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
08:26 < weasel> yup.
Do you think you can do something so that we can better interact?
Given the reject message, I think that lists.alioth.debian.org might
not be the only server which has problems there...
