[Pkg-samba-maint] Bug#454799: smbfs: 'man smbmount': '{service}' undefined.

Package: smbfs
Version: 3.0.27a-1
Severity: normal

What's the syntax of "{service}"?

    % man smbmount | grep -n service
    9:       smbmount {service} {mount-point} [-ooptions]

'man smbmount' should explain, but the SYNOPSIS has the only mention.
The man page refers readers to 'mount' and 'man smbmnt', but
neither page includes that word:

    % man mount smbmnt | grep service ; echo $?
    1

A web search for the syntax, (for curious BTS users):

    {service}

    //{server_name}/{samba_share_name}
     (share names are case sensitive)

    Examples: "//192.168.1.103/Knoppix", "//beagle.myhomenetwork.org/WinShare", etc.

    Full command line example (from Wikipedia):

	smbmount //server/share /localdir -o username=user,password=pass,uid=500,gid=500

Note: while writing this report I upgraded to v3.0.27a-2, and the man page
has changed:

	% man smbmount | grep -in service
	9:       mount.cifs {service} {mount-point} [-ooptions]
	250: device files and fifos in a format compatible with Services for Unix

...but '{service}' remains undefined.

Hope this helps...
