Joining a Windows 2000 client to a Samba PDC fails with the client
message "the procedure number is out of range".  The log.smbd shows (at
log level 5, for example):

so apparently upstream is already aware of the problem.

I was able to work around this problem by applying SP4 and then joining
the domain.  The failure happened with SP1.  But there is very little
info on Google about this so I wanted to document my experience.  I hope
it isn't too much trouble to do that here.
