This is a bit of a political hot potato.  It's more an issue of
branding than anything else.

I'll make the least controversial statement I can make.  SAMBA_4_0
does not support printing right now.  Therefore if you want any
features from SAMBA_4_0 and still allow Windows clients to print,
you will have to maintain two separate installations concurrently
bound to different IP addresses.  There will be other reasons
that drive people to want to use both branches on the same host
as well.

This is a bit different than previous hand off major releases
(e.g. Samba 2.2 and Samba 3.0) due to project goals and scope.
There is no planned stop on development in the SAMBA_3_0 tree
any time in the near future.
